Jolicloud, the New Netbook OS

Tariq Krim, the former CEO of Netvibe, is set to release a Linux-based OS next year known as Jolicloud.

Though the names are similar, this new OS should be quite different from the Cloud OS, which we covered in a recent article. Cloud was intended to work alongside Windows; Jolicloud will be a direct download that replaces the pre-loaded operating system.

Jolicloud is rumored to look a lot like the iPhone system. The OS will support touch screens, making Raon’s Everrun Note a good candidate.
