Is A High-Resolution Netbook Necessarily a Good Thing?

In general, devices with higher resolution screens allow users to see more information at any given time. But is this necessarily a good thing, especially when those devices are netbooks?

Well, on one hand, higher resolution screens means that the user has to scroll less to see the desired information/data. On the other hand though, trying to focus on smaller text on a smaller screen can be quite strenuous on the eyes.

Some 10″ netbooks offer a resolution of 1366×768, but after 20 to 30 minutes of reading the text or staring at the screen, your eyes may start to strain or you may start to get a headache. Of course, the length of time when these side effects start to occur differ for every individual.

It’s just something to keep in mind when you’re going shopping for your first (or next) netbook. You might want to reconsider getting a netbook with a lower resolution or a larger screen if your eyes aren’t what they used to be.
