enTourage eDGe Dualbook/Tablet Netbook/e-Reader Runs Google Android

The new enTourage eDGe is a curious little device developed by Entourage Systems. It’s being called a ‘dualbook’ – something in between e-readers and netbooks with a 360 degree tablet-style screen. It allows users to “write notes or highlight text, send emails and instant messages, browse the Web, take pictures, record and play audio as well as video content.” It was a top finalist in the Consumer Electronics Association’s i-Stage event.
One interesting feature of the machine is the method of storage. All documents are saved directly to Entourage System’s servers in true cloud fashion, protecting users from data loss even in the face of damaged equipment.
Half of the enTourage eDGe is the 9.7″ display, featuring Wi-Fi, optional 3G, and support for e-books in PDF and EPUB format.
The other half is a 10.1″ LCD touchscreen for email, Web browsing, watching movies or listening to music. The device supports Bluetooth keyboards for expanded efficiency.
The two halves of the enTourage eDGe work in concert to offer the user a truly unique experience, according to Entourage CEO Asghar Mostafa:
“We are excited to introduce an industry-changing product that will increase efficiency in the office, at home or in the classroom. The enTourage eDGe ushers in a new generation of consumer electronics, creating its own category, by supporting multiple needs of today`s fast-paced consumer in one sleek, interactive, user-friendly platform.”
The dualbook/netbook runs Google Android for up to 16 hours using the e-reader or 6 hours running the LCD display. Check back soon for info concerning pricing and availability.
