10″ and 11″ Netbooks/Ultraportables/Laptops Are Setting the Trend

As consumers find that laptops are too bulky and netbooks lack in performance, manufacturers have created a product that’s a compromise between both – the category of 10″ to 12″ netbooks and ultraportables.

A previously conducted scientific study monitored the amount of netbooks/ultraportables available in Germany. More specifically, devices with screen sizes of 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11-inch displays were monitored. The general trend was that while the amount of devices with smaller displays was decreasing, the amount of devices with screen sizes of 10″ and 11″ was rising. Take a look at the graph:
