Apple’s Magic Mouse Drains Batteries

Much to the consternation of us Apple fanatics, yet another Apple product is having problems. According to users posting on Apple’s forums, the Magic Mouse is draining Bluetooth keyboard batteries. The Magic Mouse is the world’s first Multi-touch mouse, according to Apple, and uses the same technology used in the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The Magic Mouse has been well-received by users so far. However, many users are experiencing problems with their Bluetooth keyboards, originally believing the problem to be in the keyboard itself. When they switched to different brand mice, however, the problem was resolved. Says forum user Sir Applot, “I switched to a Logitech mouse for comparison and my battery life on the keyboard stabilised!” While using the Magic Mouse, users are currently having to change the keyboard batteries about once a week.
It is unclear if Apple is aware of this problem or not. An Apple store in the United States said that Apple was aware of the problem, while one in Sydney, Australia appeared not to be.
