CherryPal Android-Based Asia Netbook to Ship for $99
Looks like CherryPal, a company that manufacturers ultra low-end computers, is releasing another laptop. The new “Asia” netbook will cost $100, but buyer beware — you’ll get what you pay for.
Even though they are similarly priced, the 7″ CherryPal Asia netbook will be slightly better than the CherryPal Africa. Asia will feature a 533MHz ARM A9 processor, 256MB of RAM, and 2 GB of storage space. Not the most impressive tech specs, but on the bright side, the netbook will also have a decent number of USB slots, 3 to be exact. The Asia netbook will run on the Android operating system and put a large emphasis on cloud computing.
There will also be a slightly more expensive model of the CherryPal Asia. It’ll run for $148 and will have a [slightly larger] 10″ screen and webcam. No pictures are yet available for this netbook.

The $99 Netbook Becomes A Reality

Creating a netbook that costs less than 100 dollars once seemed like an impossible dream, but Cherrypal made it a reality. Cherrypal has launched the Cherrypal Africa, a $99 netbook, a computer aimed at satisfying the needs of the population of third world countries which could benefit greatly from internet access.
It is expected that the netbook will not be equipped with more than the bare necessities. Features include a 7-inch screen, 400 Mhz Processor, 256 MB Ram, and 2 GB of flash memory.
The CherryPal Africa is powerful enough to browse the internet and opens up the educational opportunities of impoverished children all over the developing world. Although this netbook is not for the average American able to afford a netbook with more bells and whistles, it is a big step forward towards better education for the less fortunate.

Bing Netbook Runs GreenMaraschino For 5 Hours
There’s a netbook maker out there with a taste for the red carpet. Its name is CherryPal, and it will be patrolling the Sundance Film Festival in Utah to hawk the new Bing netbook to celebrities.
What?
As far as strange marketing schemes go, this has certainly got to be the weirdest. Whoever thought Sundance was a good arena for new technology might have gotten lost on the way to Las Vegas. Regardless, the Bing netbook merits some attention.

Bing is a 10.2-inch widescreen netbook, running the Intel Atom chip for up to five hours at a time. It claims to be the most efficient netbook on the market today.
It runs the Linux-based GreenMaraschino OS, a good choice for low-powered netbooking. It will also arrive in a GreenMaraschino-tinged Windows XP version.

CherryPal is giving out the Bing netbook at Sundance in a bundle with their C114 CherryPal Desktop PC at only $399. The machine sounds cool, but I still can’t help but scratch my head.
